The Alamo plant began producing Soltex® additives in batch operations in 1978, when it was owned by Chromalloy. The facility was sold in 1983 to Drilling Specialties Company, a subsidiary of Phillips Petroleum. The plant converted to continuous operation in 1987, and since then production capability has increased more than 85 percent.
The Alamo plant is in Conroe, Texas, 46 miles north of Houston. The plant is an ISO 9001 certified facility.
