We invest considerable time, talent and resources to make a lasting, meaningful impact in communities across the globe, and we are committed to drive progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Where We Give
Our corporate community involvement efforts focus on three key areas and contribute to the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Education / Protect Human Rights
At CPChem, we realize that it is important to invest in the people and the communities that will help shape the future of the company. We believe quality education is a human right and we actively support enrichment programs that build awareness, interest, skills and knowledge in STEM fields to empower tomorrow’s leaders.
Through direct charitable contributions, in-kind donations and volunteering, CPChem promotes equitable access to quality education and resources in alignment with SDG #4 Quality Education and SDG #8 Decent Work and Economic Growth.
We proudly support the Future of Stem Scholars Initiative (FOSSI), a national program which seeks to increase the number of underrepresented professionals in the chemical industry workforce by providing scholarships to students pursuing STEM degrees at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. CPChem has pledged more than $1.4 million to fund FOSSI scholars through 2025, and our employees mentor students and help deliver leadership development training. We also proudly welcome FOSSI interns to our facilities each summer.
Additionally, CPChem funds several scholarships and programs at community, junior and four-year degree-granting institutions and provides grants to schools and universities to enhance education capacities and attract top talent. These programs expand opportunities for students and prepare our future leaders and workforce to develop the sustainable solutions needed to tackle complex challenges facing our industry and communities.
Prioritizing Health, Safety and Well-being
To protect people and the planet, CPChem aims to operate in a safe, secure, injury-free, and environmentally sustainable manner every day. We support local safety initiatives and facilitate access to health and wellness programs to help families improve their quality of life.
We aim to leave the world better than we found it and prioritize health, safety and the well-being of our personnel and the environmental sustainability of our community and its natural resources.
Philanthropically, we seek to enhance community access to health and wellness programs, improve first responder resources, and support local safety initiatives. We provide contributions to local fire, police and medical organizations and sponsor events that benefit local communities
In addition to the company's commitment to the Alliance to End Plastic Waste, we support efforts to clean up our environment, improve infrastructure for managing waste, and educate our neighbors about sustainability issues and solutions.
