Chevron Phillips Chemical Announces Completion of Next-Generation Polyethylene Pilot Plant at its Research and Technology Center in Bartlesville, OK

Chevron Phillips Chemical announces the completion of its leading-edge polyethylene pilot plant at its research and technology facility in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS - (July 27, 2016) - Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP (Chevron Phillips Chemical) is pleased to announce completion of its leading-edge polyethylene pilot plant at its research and technology facility in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

The pilot plant enables polyethylene research, such as new catalyst and polymer development, to take place on a pilot scale prior to implementation in full-scale operations, including the company's $6 billion investment along the Texas Gulf Coast expected to start up next year.

Utilizing Chevron Phillips Chemical's premier MarTECH® polyethylene technology, the new unit will support customers from around the world from concept to commercialization, enabling companies the opportunity to go to the marketplace following proven polyethylene research.

With more than 55 years of proven success, Chevron Phillips Chemical's original MarTECH® loop slurry process and its newer MarTECH® advanced dual loop (ADL) technology are used for manufacturing polyethylene and creating bimodal polyethylene resins for advanced applications. The MarTECH® polyethylene technology is available for licensing and is utilized by more than 80 licensed plants in 16 countries worldwide.
