Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP Names New Board Members

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (October 18, 2007) - Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP (Chevron Phillips Chemical) today announced the election of two new members to its board of directors. James L. Gallogly and Sigmund Cornelius have been named to assume seats formerly held by John E. Lowe and Philip L. Frederickson. Both Lowe and Frederickson have executive assignments with ConocoPhillips.   

James Gallogly is executive vice president of refining, marketing and transportation at ConocoPhillips. Gallogly joined Phillips Petroleum in 1980 as an attorney and has served in a number of roles, including vice president for North America production, vice president of plastics and senior vice president of chemicals. Gallogly joined Chevron Phillips Chemical as its inaugural president and chief executive officer and served from 2000 until 2006.

Sigmund Cornelius is senior vice president of planning, strategy and corporate affairs at ConocoPhillips. Cornelius joined Conoco in 1980 and held several management positions in the company's midstream and upstream organizations and also served as Treasurer of Conoco. Since the merger with Phillips in 2002, he has held management positions in Business Development, Global Gas and most recently was president exploration and production lower 48 states.
