THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (March 27, 2007) - Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP (Chevron Phillips Chemical) is pleased to announce that Rick Roberts, senior vice president of manufacturing was recently named a distinguished engineering alumnus at Purdue University. Roberts was one of ten Purdue alumni bestowed with this honor in recognition of outstanding achievements in professional and related fields of endeavor.

Jischke, president of Purdue University. "Their achievements stand not only as technical triumphs but as inspirations to current and future generations."

Born in 1954, Roberts graduated with honors in chemical engineering from Purdue University in 1976. Upon graduation, he began his career as a process engineer with Chevron Corporation. In 1980 he earned an MBA from Pepperdine University. After advancing through several engineering and operations positions of increasing responsibility, Roberts was named senior vice president of manufacturing for Chevron Phillips Chemical in 2001. In his current role, Roberts is responsible for managing the operations of Chevron Phillips Chemical's 10 domestic chemical plants.
Roberts also serves on the board of the Texas Chemical Council (TCC), is a member of Purdue University's School of Chemical Engineering Industrial Advisory Committee, and is a senior member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE).
