KR Copolymer Company Ltd. Achieves One Million Incident-Free Work Hours

SEOUL, South Korea (October 5, 2007) - KR Copolymer Company Ltd. (KRCC) announced today that on September 27, 2007, KRCC's Yeosu Petrochemical Complex achieved one million work hours without a recordable injury to a single employee - a milestone recognized throughout manufacturing industry as an outstanding achievement.

"Our commitment to safety is a journey without rest stops and timeouts," said KRCC Managing Director Pawan Bassi. "We never take safety for granted and we continue to build on our exemplary record, one hour at a time. We will continue to run our plant at maximum capacity and produce a variety of new products to meet customers' demands around the globe." Bassi added, "Though our production targets are critical, safety and the well-being of our employees is our highest priority."

Bassi attributes the impressive achievement to KRCC's commitment to safety as a core value and to each KRCC employee taking responsibility for personal safety, as well as for the safety of coworkers.

KRCC is a joint venture company owned by Chevron Phillips Chemical Company (60%) and Daelim Industrial Company (40%) that was formed in February 2000. The plant is located in Yeosu Petrochemical Complex, the largest and newest petrochemical complex on the southern coast of South Korea.

KRCC's Yeosu Petrochemical Complex produces K-Resin SBC, the number one brand of styrene-butadiene copolymer in the world. K-Resin SBC is characterized by its clarity and shatter-resistance, and is used in making medical devices, toys, candy wrap, food packaging, drinking cups and garment hangers throughout the world.
