Performance is the difference

STARTEX, SOUTH CAROLINA (December 17, 2015) - Performance Pipe's Startex, South Carolina, plant is pleased to announce that it has been recognized by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as a Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star site for demonstrating exemplary adherence to health and safety processes.

Startex joins the ranks of nine Performance Pipe locations that have also been named VPP Star sites. "We are proud to have all of our sites recognized as a VPP Star site," said General Manager of Performance Pipe Lawyer Jolley. "We appreciate this recognition and will continue to work in the spirit of continuous improvement in building a world-class safety culture."

In March, the Startex plant received the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance Plant Safety Award for 2014's safety performance, and since 2011, the plant has worked without a recordable injury.

"Receiving VPP's Star designation is an extremely high honor and I couldn't be more proud of the dedication the Startex team has shown to safety," said Bruce Cohen, Startex plant manager. "As always, our goal is zero incidents and zero injuries and this is a great step in the right direction."

Launched by OSHA in 1982, VPP recognizes U.S. sites that provide a very high level of safety and health protection. Companies in the Star Program have achieved injury and illness rates at or below the national average of their respective industries.
